What "newest" means here

The most recent study in this library is dated 2026-11-01 (Paths of Aging Minds: Health Journeys of Older Adults with Mild Cognitive Impairment). This is our summary library, not a news wire — it is added to in batches, so the newest entry may not be the newest paper published anywhere.

Entries are sorted strictly by publication date, newest first. 26489 of the 27380 entries carry a full day-level date. 65 have no date recorded at all and are placed by publication year, at the start of that year; those are marked "no date recorded" below so you can see where the ordering is a best effort rather than a fact.

MC1 detects tau pathology in chronic traumatic encephalopathy

✓ Peer-reviewed Drug development Journal of Neuropathology & Experimental Neurology

Key finding: This epitope reflects an abnormal folding of tau that occurs among the earliest structural alterations in AD, preceding PHF formation.2 In a recent letter to this journal from Sorrentino and colleagues, it was proposed that immunohistochemistry (IHC) with MC1 could be used to distinguish the tau pathology of AD from that of chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE).3 CTE is a tauopathy that is uniquely associated with exposure to repeated head injury and therefore likely involves mechanisms of tau accumulation distinct from those of AD.4 Cryo-EM has revealed that the ultrastructural conformation of tau PHFs differs between AD and CTE,5 and this may represent a point of difference for diagnostic purposes.
