Each study has a usefulness score out of 100 (rubric version 4.0). Tap a score to see what makes it up.
Highest usefulness score first. Studies without a score come last.

Compared to APOE ε4 non-carriers, APOE ε4 carriers had lower rsFC in temporal DMN, but only in non-Hispanic Whites.

Compared to those without LATE-NC or ADNC, those with pure LATE-NC had a faster decline in global cognition (p = 0.025) and episodic memory (p = 0.002); however, compared to persons with pure ADNC, those with pure LATE-NC showed a slower decline.

Atrial fibrillation (AF) is associated with increased risk of cognitive impairment and dementia, even with no overt stroke.
-
Time*MBI status was the only significant interaction to predict change in NfL concentrations (F(1,574) = 4.59, p = 0.032), even after controlling for age, mild cognitive impairment, and demographics.
-
Plasma NFL was related to all domains (P values ≤ .008) except processing speed (P values ≥ .09).
-
Adjusted differences showed advantages in the 6-year change in STICS-m score of 0.25 (95% CI 0.04-0.45) for an increase of 1-SD (9 points) in the AHEI-2010 and of 0.27 (95% CI 0.05-0.48) for an increase of 1-SD (1.5 points) in the MIND diet.
-
Visual impairment is common in people living with dementia and regular ophthalmological exams may improve their quality of life.
-
Although hearing loss and cognition are linked, untreated hearing loss drives the association.

We directly assessed mesial temporal activity using intracranial foramen ovale electrodes in two patients with Alzheimer's disease (AD) without a history or EEG evidence of seizures.
-
Extended monitoring detects subclinical epileptiform activity in a substantial proportion of patients with AD.
-
The two main findings of this paper are (i) the posterior default mode network fails before measurable amyloid plaques and appears to initiate a connectivity cascade that continues throughout the disease spectrum; and (ii) high connectivity between the posterior default mode network and hubs of high connectivity (many located in the frontal lobe) is associated with amyloid accumulation.

Specific neuropsychiatric symptoms are associated with shorter survival time from mild Alzheimer's dementia to severe dementia and/or death.
-
The REM sleep behavior disorder (RBD) is a type of parasomnia manifested by vivid, often frightening dreams associated with motor behaviors during REM sleep, sometimes causing injuries to patients themselves or to their bed partners.
-
Repetitive head trauma is a risk factor for Alzheimer's disease and is the primary cause of chronic traumatic encephalopathy.
-
The Religious Orders Study is a longitudinal clinical-pathologic cohort study of aging and Alzheimer's disease (AD).
-
Accurate processing of emotional information is a critical component of appropriate social interactions and interpersonal relationships.
-
A decrease of self-confidence about memory abilities in cognitively normal elderly subjects may be related to the neuropathological hallmark of AD measured with PiB-positron emission tomography.
-
Significant differences between MCI and AD were essentially confined to the corpus callosum.
-
We found that the bilingual patients had been diagnosed 4.3 years later and had reported the onset of symptoms 5.1 years later than the monolingual patients.
-
The overall relationships between hearing loss and memory systems were predicted by the ease of language understanding model (J. Rönnberg, 2003), but the exact mechanisms of episodic memory decline in hearing aid users (i.e., mismatch/disuse, attentional resources, or information degradation) remain open for further experiments.
-
Multivariate analyses assessed the strength of association of comorbid conditions with epilepsy as compared with the general population.
-
Fish consumption may be associated with slower cognitive decline with age.
-
M ILD COGNITIVE i m p a i r m e n t (MCI) has been actively investigated for the past decade. , 2 The term was coined in the late 1980s by the New York University group to identify individuals who were not cognitively normal for age and yet did not have overt dementia, and their outcomes were described in an article examining predictors of dementia by Flicker et al in the early 1990s. Flicker et al characterized MCI as equivalent to a Global Deterioration Scale rating of 3 and found that a diagnostic approach combining a careful, structured interview and the appropriate neuropsychological tests can discriminate those individuals with MCI likely to experience cognitive deterioration from those with a benign prognosis.
-
Alzheimer's disease (AD) is the most common neurodegenerative disorder characterized by cognitive and intellectual deficits and behavior disturbance.
-
The objective of this study was to assess the convergent validity of a 26-point Telephone Mini-Mental State Examination (MMSE) in a longitudinal cohort of 46 Alzheimer's disease (AD) patients.
