Topic: Amyloid, tau and blood-test diagnosis
O NfL mostrou alta sensibilidade, porém baixa especificidade.
Key findings
- Os biomarcadores analisados incluíram NfL, p-Tau181, p-Tau217, Aβ42/Aβ40 e GFAP.
- Os resultados indicaram que o p-Tau217 apresentou maior acurácia (AUC 0,94–0,96), seguido por p-Tau181 e Aβ42/Aβ40.
- O NfL mostrou alta sensibilidade, porém baixa especificidade.
Why it matters
This systematic review found that plasma p-Tau217 had the highest diagnostic accuracy, followed by p-Tau181 and Aβ42/Aβ40, and concluded that combining markers may improve early diagnosis. It is about diagnosis, not treatment, and does not demonstrate any cure or prevention.

How this study scored 26/100
Published in a peer-reviewed journal. Scored zero for study design, sample size, effect reported, studied in people and randomised / blinded because the record does not state it. We have no data on senior author's track record, so that was left out: it earned 25 of the 96 points we could judge it on, which is 26 out of 100.
