Topic: Amyloid, tau and blood-test diagnosis

Key findings

Why it matters

This narrative review describes how next-generation sequencing has identified genes such as APP, TREM2 and PLD3 and highlighted pathways related to inflammation, synaptic dysfunction and neurodegeneration in Alzheimer's disease. It notes that challenges such as data interpretation and protocol standardization limit clinical application, so no treatment or cure is presented.
