Topic: Amyloid, tau and blood-test diagnosis

Why it matters

This Brazilian review describes the clinical and epidemiological picture of Alzheimer's disease, noting higher prevalence in women and rising incidence in Brazil over the last 10 years. It is a descriptive review of secondary data and does not test any treatment, cure, or prevention.

Published in a peer-reviewed journal. Scored zero for study design, sample size, effect reported, studied in people and randomised / blinded because the record does not state it. We have no data on senior author's track record, so that was left out: it earned 26 of the 96 points we could judge it on, which is 27 out of 100.
