A novel biochemical analysis for ApoE4 quantification in plasma and discrimination of homozygous and heterozygous APOE ε4 carriers
Rodríguez A, Calero O, Veiga S, Menacho-Román M, Arribas I, Cano L, García-Ribas G, Calero M.. Alzheimer's research & therapy, 2025-07-15
Topic: Genetics and APOE
Background The APOE ε4 allele is the strongest genetic risk factor for late-onset Alzheimer's disease (AD) and is associated with increased risk of amyloid-related imaging abnormalities (ARIA) during anti-amyloid therapy. Results ApoE4 levels ascertained by the e4Quant test exhibited clear genotype-dependent stratification.

How this study scored 57/100
Published in a peer-reviewed journal. Scored zero for study design and randomised / blinded because the record does not state it. We have no data on journal's citation record, times cited, citations per year, impact for its field and year, cited by studies here, still being cited, senior author's track record, institution's track record and multi-centre collaboration, so those were left out: it earned 33 of the 58 points we could judge it on, which is 57 out of 100.
