Usability and feasibility of INFORMA platform for computerized cognitive stimulation in mild cognitive impairment and early dementia: an 8-week multicenter study
Cristina Basso, Andréa Zanella, Marco Simoni, Carlo Fantozzi, Donata Gollin, Cristina Ruaro, Silvia Tiozzo Netti, Alessandra Zapparoli et al.. Aging Clinical and Experimental Research, 2026-03-13
Topic: Risk, prevention and care in population studies
Of 219 completing participants (mean age 73.5 years), the mean SUS score was 82.0 (95% CI: 80.3-83.8), with 84% exceeding the usability threshold (SUS score > 68). Mean TCR reached 97.8%, while 70.3% demonstrated improved R-TCT. Higher SUS scores correlated with education and MMSE scores but decreased with age. Satisfaction ratings exceeded 87% for participants and 95% for caregivers. INFORMA demonstrated high usability across all educational and cognitive levels, with the hybrid model combining automated exercises and professional supervision being well-received. INFORMA showed significant promise as a user-friendly computerized cognitive stimulation tool, supporting its potential efficacy for MCI and dementia interventions and warranting further therapeutic efficacy studies.

Key findings
- Of 219 completing participants (mean age 73.5 years), the mean SUS score was 82.0 (95% CI: 80.3-83.8), with 84% exceeding the usability threshold (SUS score > 68).
- Mean TCR reached 97.8%, while 70.3% demonstrated improved R-TCT.
- Higher SUS scores correlated with education and MMSE scores but decreased with age.
- Satisfaction ratings exceeded 87% for participants and 95% for caregivers.
- INFORMA demonstrated high usability across all educational and cognitive levels, with the hybrid model combining automated exercises and professional supervision being well-received.
Why it matters
In this 8-week study of 219 participants with mild cognitive impairment or early dementia, the INFORMA computerized cognitive stimulation platform showed high usability and satisfaction. The authors say further studies are needed to test its therapeutic efficacy.

How this study scored 45/100
Published in a peer-reviewed journal. Scored zero for study design and randomised / blinded because the record does not state it. We have no data on senior author's track record, so that was left out: it earned 43 of the 96 points we could judge it on, which is 45 out of 100.
