✓ Peer-reviewed alzhub usefulness score 57 out of 100. Brain scans and imaging

Topic: Brain proteins, microglia and lab models

This study performed an anatomical parcellation of the MNI spatially normalized single-subject high-resolution T1 volume by delineating main sulci as landmarks to define 45 anatomical volumes of interest (AVOI) in each hemisphere. Using this parcellation, the authors developed three procedures for automated anatomical labeling of functional studies. An interface was created for the Statistical Parametric Mapping (SPM) package and made available as freeware to the neuroimaging community.

Key findings

Why it matters

Describes a method for automatically labeling brain areas in SPM brain imaging analyses, based on an anatomical map of a single MRI brain.

Published in a peer-reviewed journal. Scored zero for study design, sample size, effect reported, studied in people and randomised / blinded because the record does not state it. We have no data on strength of evidence, so that was left out: it earned 54 of the 95 points we could judge it on, which is 57 out of 100.
