Topic: Amyloid, tau and blood-test diagnosis

Key findings

Why it matters

This is a philosophical article proposing the concept of 'resfactum' to describe Alzheimer's disease as both a biological and socially shaped entity, using the PSEN1-E280A mutation as an example. It does not report any treatment, cure or prevention findings.

Published in a peer-reviewed journal. Scored zero for study design, sample size, effect reported, studied in people and randomised / blinded because the record does not state it. We have no data on senior author's track record, so that was left out: it earned 25 of the 96 points we could judge it on, which is 26 out of 100.
