Correlation Between Amyloid PET Imaging and Discordant Cerebrospinal Fluid Biomarkers Results in Patients with Suspected Alzheimer's Disease
Jose Antonio Lojo-Ramírez, Miriam Guerra-Gómez, Alba Marta Marín-Cabañas, Paula Fernández-Rodríguez, María Bernal Sánchez-Arjona, Emilio Franco-Macías, David García-Solís. Journal of Alzheimer's disease : JAD, 2024
Topic: Plasma and spinal-fluid biomarkers
Comparing the discordant CSF results of each patient with the cerebral amyloid-PET results, we found that in the group with Aβ1 - 42+ and p-tau-CSF values, the amyloid-PET was positive in 51.2% and negative in 48.8% of patients, while in the group with Aβ1 - 42-and p-Tau+ CSF values, the amyloid-PET was positive in 52.6% of patients and negative in 47.4% of them. No significant association was found (p = 0.951) between the results of amyloid-PET and the two divergent groups in CSF. No significant relationship was observed between the results of discordant AD biomarkers in CSF and the result of amyloid-PET. No trend in amyloid-PET results was observed in relation to CSF biomarker values.

- No significant association was found (p = 0.951) between the results of amyloid-PET and the two divergent groups in CSF.
- No significant relationship was observed between the results of discordant AD biomarkers in CSF and the result of amyloid-PET.
- No trend in amyloid-PET results was observed in relation to CSF biomarker values.

How this study scored 54/100
Published in a peer-reviewed journal. Scored zero for study design and randomised / blinded because the record does not state it. We have no data on journal's citation record, times cited, citations per year, impact for its field and year, cited by studies here, still being cited, senior author's track record, institution's track record, multi-centre collaboration and free to read, so those were left out: it earned 30 of the 56 points we could judge it on, which is 54 out of 100.
