Each study has a usefulness score out of 100 (rubric version 4.0). Tap a score to see what makes it up.
Highest usefulness score first. Studies without a score come last.

Glucagon-like peptide-1 receptor agonists (GLP-1 RAs), originally developed for type 2 diabetes mellitus and obesity, are increasingly recognized for their significant impact on the central nervous system, leading to reports of both beneficial and adverse mental health effects.
-
Overall, 12 489 patients initiating SGLT2 inhibitor treatment (51.9% dapagliflozin and 48.1% empagliflozin) and 1075 patients initiating dulaglutide treatment were included.
-
This mini-narrative review explores the relationship between diabetes and dementia, focusing on the potential mitigating role of metformin in reducing cognitive decline among individuals with type 2 diabetes.
-
The total sample consisted of 33 clinically diagnosed AD patients taking galantamine 8 mg/d for 6 months.
-
The pooled trial included 88,381 participants who received prescriptions for GLP-1 agonists (n = 12,351), DPP-4 inhibitors (n = 43,850), or sulfonylureas (n = 32,216) at baseline and were followed for an average of 4.3 years.
-
This study provides the first active comparator data on amyloid plaque clearance in patients with early symptomatic AD.

Atrial fibrillation (AF) is the most common clinical arrhythmia with substantial health and socioeconomic impact on healthcare.1 The number of people affected by this condition was estimated to be 33.5 million in 2010, with an increasing prevalence and incidence over the coming years.2 In 2017, there were 37.6 million [95% confidence interval (CI): 32.5–42.6 million] individuals with AF/atrial flutter globally.3 The estimated number of subjects with AF in 2030 in Europe will be 14–17 million, and the number of new cases of AF per year at 120 000–215 000.4 Atrial fibrillation is independently associated with increased mortality and morbidity from complications such as ischaemic stroke, dementia, and cognitive dysfunction.5 Oral anticoagulation can significantly reduce the risk of stroke, dementia, and death.6 As a part of a holistic or integrated approach to AF care, it is associated with improved outcomes7–9 and is advocated in guidelines.10,11 In many patients, AF can be asymptomatic, and the diagnosis is established after the appearance of a complication typically associated with AF, such as ischaemic stroke/systemic embolic or heart failure.

A lower incidence of dementia in bipolar patients treated with lithium has been described.
-
In the general population, the use of statins, but not of non-statin cholesterol-lowering drugs, was associated with a lower risk of AD compared with never use of cholesterol-lowering drugs.
-
In this cohort study, statin therapy was not associated with a decreased risk of dementia.
-
Prior qualitative literature reviews about the use of neuroleptics in dementia suggest that they are "modestly effective" in treating agitation and that no single neuroleptic is better than another.
-
Among 1005 amyloid-positive participants, 24.6% were eligible for lecanemab and 28.0% for donanemab (9.1% and 10.3% of the initial sample).
-
Our two-sample MR analysis indicated that T2D is not associated with the risk of AD (OR: 1.03, CI: 0.99-1.08, P = 0.128).
-
Specifically, recent studies suggest that increased plasma concentrations of lipoprotein-Aβ compromise the brain microvasculature, resulting in extravasation and retention of the lipoprotein-Aβ moiety.
-
Following reports of bleeding upon Ginkgo intake, we assessed whether Ginkgo extract EGb 761® affects coagulation or platelet function or increases the risk of bleeding.
-
There were no significant differences in age, sex, or education between AChEIs alone and combination groups.
