Topic: Genetics and APOE
Our data indicated that the levels of triglyceride, total cholesterol, low-density lipoprotein cholesterol, high-density lipoprotein cholesterol, apolipoprotein A-I (ApoA-I), ApoB, ApoE, lipoprotein (a) (Lp(a)) of mutant genotypes in ApoE c.61G > A and c.761T > A genetic variants were different from those subjects with wild genotype in HD patients and healthy controls. These preliminary results from this study suggest that the ApoE genetic variants and concentration could affect the serum lipid parameters in HD and could be risk factors for evaluating HD.

How this study scored 45/100
Published in a peer-reviewed journal. Scored zero for study design, effect reported and randomised / blinded because the record does not state it. We have no data on journal's citation record, times cited, citations per year, impact for its field and year, cited by studies here, still being cited, senior author's track record, institution's track record, multi-centre collaboration and free to read, so those were left out: it earned 25 of the 56 points we could judge it on, which is 45 out of 100.
