Topic: Plasma and spinal-fluid biomarkers
In women we found a significant correlation between CSF amyloid-beta (Aβ1-42) and several subtests measuring delayed recall. Word List Recall correlated with all markers: Aβ1-42 (r = 0.323, p = 0.035), tau (r = -0.304, p = 0.050) and hyperphosphorylated tau (r = -0.331, p = 0.046). No such correlations were found in men. CSF biomarkers correlate with delayed memory scores in CERAD-NB in women, and women may have more actual AD pathology at the time of the investigations than men.

Key findings
- In women we found a significant correlation between CSF amyloid-beta (Aβ1-42) and several subtests measuring delayed recall.
- Word List Recall correlated with all markers: Aβ1-42 (r = 0.323, p = 0.035), tau (r = -0.304, p = 0.050) and hyperphosphorylated tau (r = -0.331, p = 0.046).
- CSF biomarkers correlate with delayed memory scores in CERAD-NB in women, and women may have more actual AD pathology at the time of the investigations than men.

How this study scored 45/100
Published in a peer-reviewed journal. Scored zero for study design, effect reported and randomised / blinded because the record does not state it. We have no data on journal's citation record, times cited, citations per year, impact for its field and year, cited by studies here, still being cited, senior author's track record, institution's track record, multi-centre collaboration and free to read, so those were left out: it earned 25 of the 56 points we could judge it on, which is 45 out of 100.
