Choosing the right time granularity for analysis of digital biomarker trajectories
Nicole I Wakim, Thomas M Braun, Jeffrey A Kaye, Hiroko H Dodge, for ORCATECH. Alzheimer's & dementia (New York, N. Y.), 2020-12-18
Topic: Brain imaging, connectivity and assessment
We applied our procedure to real-world data which include longitudinal in-home monitored walking speed. The example shed lights on typical problems that data present and how we could use the above factors in exploratory analysis to choose an appropriate time granularity. Further work is required to explore issues with missing data and computational efficiency.

Key findings
- We applied our procedure to real-world data which include longitudinal in-home monitored walking speed.
- The example shed lights on typical problems that data present and how we could use the above factors in exploratory analysis to choose an appropriate time granularity.
- Further work is required to explore issues with missing data and computational efficiency.

How this study scored 59/100
Published in a leading specialty journal, and it is a longitudinal study following the same people over time. Scored zero for sample size, effect reported, studied in people and randomised / blinded because the record does not state it. We have no data on journal's citation record, times cited, citations per year, impact for its field and year, cited by studies here, still being cited, senior author's track record, institution's track record, multi-centre collaboration and free to read, so those were left out: it earned 33 of the 56 points we could judge it on, which is 59 out of 100.
