✓ Peer-reviewed alzhub usefulness score 28 out of 100. Genetics

Reviewed as evidence on: APOE genotype and delirium risk (incl. postoperative) 2 studies (what the news said). Being listed means the study bears on the question, not that it agrees with the news.

Topic: Amyloid, tau and blood-test diagnosis

Key findings

Why it matters

This Vietnamese-language review examines the relationship between APOE and lipid metabolism in Alzheimer disease, noting that APOE isoforms can alter disease risk and recovery in late-onset Alzheimer disease. It discusses how APOE allele variants change cellular and tissue lipid metabolism and mentions some methods for determining APOE gene polymorphisms.

Published in a peer-reviewed journal. Scored zero for study design, sample size, effect reported, studied in people and randomised / blinded because the record does not state it. We have no data on senior author's track record, so that was left out: it earned 27 of the 96 points we could judge it on, which is 28 out of 100.
