A Four‐Arm Randomized Controlled Trial on the Effects of Multi‐Dimensional Cognitive Intervention in Parkinson's Disease Patients with Mild Cognitive Impairment and Subjective Cognitive Decline (REMIND)
Pei Huang, Chao Gao, Yuyan Tan, Shengdi Chen, Yun Ling, Zhonglue Chen, Zhixing Zhou, Huanhuan Xia. Alzheimer s & Dementia, 2025-12-01
Topic: Risk, prevention and care in population studies
The primary outcome of this study will be the total score on the Montreal Cognitive Assessment (MOCA). Secondary outcomes include: (1) Neuropsychological scales: MMSE, PD-CRS, HAMA, HAMD, PDQ-39, and MDS-UPDRS scales. (2) Wearable sensor-based digital biomarkers: Gait, speech, and handwriting analysis. (3) Blood biomarkers: Aβ42, T-tau, p-tau, and neuroinflammatory markers. (4) Neuroimaging Structural and functional MRI changes. All participants will be assessed at baseline, and at 12, 24, and 36 months for these outcomes. The research protocol has been approved by the Ethics Committee of Ruijin Hospital, affiliated with Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine (KY2024-137). This study will systematically assess the clinical efficacy of BBRT-online intervention in Chinese PD-MCI and PD-SCI patients and provide valuable insights into the mechanisms of non-pharmacological interventions for enhancing cognitive function.
Key findings
- The primary outcome of this study will be the total score on the Montreal Cognitive Assessment (MOCA).
- Secondary outcomes include: (1) Neuropsychological scales: MMSE, PD-CRS, HAMA, HAMD, PDQ-39, and MDS-UPDRS scales.
- (2) Wearable sensor-based digital biomarkers: Gait, speech, and handwriting analysis.
- (3) Blood biomarkers: Aβ42, T-tau, p-tau, and neuroinflammatory markers.
- (4) Neuroimaging Structural and functional MRI changes.
Why it matters
This randomized controlled trial will assess the effects of a multi-dimensional cognitive intervention in Parkinson's disease patients with mild cognitive impairment and subjective cognitive decline. The trial is ongoing and no results are reported yet.

How this study scored 54/100
Published in a peer-reviewed journal, and it is a randomised controlled trial. Scored zero for effect reported because the record does not state it. We have no data on senior author's track record, so that was left out: it earned 52 of the 96 points we could judge it on, which is 54 out of 100.
