  1. Metals and neurodegenerative diseases. A systematic review

✓ Peer-reviewed alzhub usefulness score 62 out of 100. Environmental research 2017-08-01 Tau biomarkers

Neurodegenerative processes encompass a large variety of diseases with different pathological patterns and clinical presentation such as Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), Alzheimer Disease (AD) and Parkinson's disease (PD).

  2. Patterns of levels of biological metals in CSF differ among neurodegenerative diseases

✓ Peer-reviewed alzhub usefulness score 43 out of 100. Journal of the neurological sciences 2011-02-02 Tau biomarkers

We measured the levels of some biological metals: copper (Cu), iron (Fe), magnesium (Mg), manganese (Mn), and zinc (Zn) in the cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) in patients with neurodegenerative diseases (52 patients with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS)), 21 patients with Alzheimer's disease (AD), and 20 patients with Parkinson's disease (PD) by inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICP-MS).
